AA 3 Star Campsite in Devon

Let your children’s imagination run wild, ditch the Ipads and experience a real life adventure in Devon. Spot birds, bugs and everything in between, discover nature trails, venture through woodlands and forests, build dens, skim stones, catch a fish or climb a tree. Take to the water and try canoeing, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking and much more with our onsite activity centre.

Roadford Lake is an AA graded 3 star campsite, the site benefits from spacious pitches, dedicated camping shower block, undercover barbeque area, washing up area, washing machine and dryer, baby changing room, waste disposal and recycling facilities. There’s a choice of electric and non-electric pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Treat yourself to a superb Sunday carvery or light lunches from our onsite café just across the water. Roadford Lake is a split site, a 10-15 minute walk along our woodland footpath will take you to the café, children’s play area, visitor centre, cycle trails and walking routes from the Lakeside entrance. Enjoy a day trip out and discover some of our Dartmoor National Park reservoirs, Burrator, Fernworthy, Avon Dam, Kennick, Tottiford and Trenchford. Within easy reach of Roadford are the historic towns of Launceston and Okehampton and some of the best beaches in Devon and Cornwall are less than an hour away.

Campers are allowed to use the site and facilities before or after check-in/out. Please ensure you have packed up before 11:00 on the day of departure, you can still use the main car park and enjoy the lakes facilities after packing up.

The large and open campsite, is ideal for families with children, groups of friends and can easily accommodate larger groups such as sailing clubs, scouts and schools. There is plenty of room to play, enjoy picnics and take part in family orientated activities including kayaking, high ropes, archery, fishing and much more.

Please note that for any activities you will need to ensure that you follow the centre’s policies, activities are an additional cost on camping.
