Meet Georgia Perkins, Activities Receptionist at Wimbleball Lake

Hi Everyone,

My name is Georgia and I am the administrator at Wimbleball Lake and a land based activity instructor. I joined the trust in 2013 as an outdoor programmes apprentice and now have worked my way up to the centre administrator role.

I have always taken part in a variety of sports and wanted a new challenge going away from the traditional sports of football and hockey which I taught for a long time alongside other things and moving towards more adventurous activities like highropes, climbing and archery. It is always great seeing the happy smiling faces when we have helped someone achieve something they never thought they could.

My job at the lake is quite varied from inducting and training new instructors and receptionists, overseeing the campsite, managing staff, organising bookings and of course my favourite part the instructing. We have had a lot of changes to the Wimbleball team this season with some great new additions who have done an amazing job at actually getting me out on the water!! I have probably been out on the water this season more than the last 5 put together and I am loving trying new activities.

In my spare time I love going on little adventures and exploring the local area with my friends and family. I have always played lots of hockey and football in my spare time but my favourite past time has got to be a good nap when you wake up nice and refreshed!!
