Recruitment Open Day for South West Lakes Trust

On Sunday 21st October (10am – 4pm) come along to South West Lakes Trust’s Recruitment Open Day at Roadford Lake.

We are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing instructors to join our growing team! This is your opportunity to deliver exciting educational activities for the 2019 season, based at one of our five Activity Centres:  Wimbleball, Upper Tamar, Siblyback, Stithians and Roadford.  Alternatively, there are Leisure Assistant roles available at Siblyback, Wimbleball and Roadford; learn valuable skills in running a variety of land and water-based activities, with the stunning surroundings of water, wildlife and forestry as your workplace!

Join us at the Open Day to meet the team (across all our Centres) and find out about South West Lakes Trust, including the opportunities available to develop in the industry – even from the very first step!

SW Lakes provide opportunities for people to develop skills in outdoor leadership and activity instruction. We are able to support passionate outdoor enthusiasts to pass on their knowledge and skills to new participants through our weekly clubs and training sessions. This in turn increases experience and awareness of the skills required to move on to achieve National Governing Body qualifications, giving rise to opportunities to volunteer or work professionally in the industry.

In addition to providing experience, we develop people by providing formal qualifications – ranging from pre-requisites such as First Aid through to the five day instructor courses. By completing these courses, participants are able to gain paid employment in the industry.

For younger people keen to get involved in watersports instruction, our exciting partnership with Falmouth Marine School allows us to offer an academic route for 16-18 year olds via the Watersports Instructor Diploma. This fantastic course provides a great footing into this line of work.

If you are interested in gaining experience or qualifications to work or volunteer in outdoor activities, then please get in touch and we can discuss ways that we can help!
