Fantastic Café Premises Available on Exmoor National Park

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to operate the onsite café at Wimbleball Lake, situated within Exmoor National Park. Currently named ‘The Duck Café’, the stunning destination benefits from an adjacent car park, campsite, children’s play areas, outdoor activity centre, public footpaths, cycle trails, bridle way and bird-hides. A unique business opportunity has now arisen to take over the catering provision across the site, including the option to provide mobile catering during events.

Wimbleball Lake is located near Brompton Regis, comprising a 375 acre lake surrounded by stunning woodland and rolling Exmoor Hills. South West Lakes Trust manages access to the site on behalf of South West Water and attracts in the region of 250,000 visits per year. The café is located at the main site entrance, between the main visitor car park and the campsite: a prime location for drawing custom. Wimbleball Lake won a Bronze Award in the 2017/18 Bath, Bristol and Somerset Tourism Awards in the Tourism Experience of the Year category and continues to grow in popularity year on year.

The café itself includes a counter / preparation area, store room, indoor seating with large glazed aspects and wood burner stove, as well as outdoor seating including several picnic benches. There are male, female and disabled access public toilets immediately adjacent to the café and these are maintained and managed by South West Lakes Trust, but accessible for use by the café customers.
