A Wet Weekend for Roadford’s Annual Open Day

Despite a slightly grey and wet weekend, visitors to Roadford Lake had a great time at our Annual Open Day on Sunday 26 May.

People of all ages braved the elements and took part in a variety of activities, both on and off the water, including; archery, high ropes, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding and fishing tasters.

For the little ones there was face painting by Delia from Funny Faces, a bouncy castle, giant games, family fun with Entertainingly Different, magic shows throughout the day with Mr Wishy Washy and music sessions with the fantastic Junk Orchestra.

Visitors were also able to get up close to some of Screech Owl Sanctuary’s beautiful birds and some critters from Talons ‘Owltimate’ Encounters’.

Matt Lennox, Centre Manager at Roadford Lake, said ‘The past couple of years we have been really fortunate to have had some fantastic weather for our Open Days however, this year we weren’t so lucky. It was not ideal conditions but, despite the rain, everyone seemed to have a great time. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying what Roadford has to offer.”
