Cast a Line

Did you know that Roadford, Siblyback, Stithians and Wimbleball are all popular trout fisheries? The perfect spots to begin your angling adventure. Tamar Lakes is a fantastic coarse fishery, voted as the second best still water coarse fishery in the country in the Angling Times Magazine's National Angling Awards.

The Autumn months are a great time for fishing. The waters start to cool down from the summer temperatures and the water levels start to rise again, which brings the fish into the margins to feed around the vegetation which has grown up over summer. Fish always find this food so margin fishing if your quiet and stealthy can prove to be really effective and enjoyable at this time of year.

The Brown Trout season closes on 12 October however, we have extended the Rainbow Trout season until 24 December, and our Coarse fisheries are open 365 days a year!

Want to learn something new this Autumn? Get to grips with angling with our fishing tuition at Tamar Lakes. The lessons are suitable for adults, children and families and are taught by our experienced instructors. Sessions available Friday - Sunday and start from just £30. For more information or to book call 01288 321712.
