Camping Coronavirus Statement

Issued: 10 June 2020

Updated: 28 July 2020

Safeguarding our visitors and team of employees is our priority and therefore we have certain measures in place to limit the spread of coronavirus and maintain the safety of everyone.

Whilst open, we must maintain social distancing and hygiene standards to a level that we feel minimises the risk of spreading coronavirus. If at any point we have concerns that visitor numbers or public behaviour are restricting our ability to do this, we reserve the right to close particular lakes or facilities without prior notice.

All our campsites re-opened on the 4th July.

All camping must be pre-booked – you can do this on our website by clicking the book now button at the top of the page.

If you have an existing booking with us, we will be in touch with you to make arrangements.

Glamping provision including pods and bell tents will not be available until August.

Roadford, Stithians, Tamar and Wimbleball Lake have washroom facilities available for campers; these are being closely managed in line with government advice, we reserve the right to close these with no prior notice should guidelines not be adhered to.

Each SW Lakes campsite will be able to offer a minimum of a fresh water tap, toilet/grey water disposal point and an accessible toilet. Please note, due to matters out of our control, we are currently unable to offer a toilet/grey water disposal point at Siblyback Lake.

Please be aware that whilst we are offering the ability to hire and self-launch equipment, this must be pre-booked.

For current information on the status of our Activity Centres please visit our dedicated webpage

Each lake provides a perfect place to relax and unwind, connect with the great outdoors and spend time making memories with your family. There are miles of footpaths to explore and plenty of opportunities to cycle.

Cafes are operating takeaway services at Roadford, Tamar, Wimbleball, with Siblyback and Stithians to open in the near future.

PLEASE DO NOT come to site if you or a member of your household are showing any signs of COVID-19.

Keeping our campsites safe:

  • Social distancing rules will be adhered during check in and check out
  • Pitches can only be occupied my members of the same household
  • Camping and touring pitches will have at least a 3m gap in between or every other pitch will be used to ensure there is a minimum of 3 metre distance between campers.
  • The reception areas will be closed, staff will greet you outside and can answer any questions via telephone or email
  • ALL CAMPERS will be treated fairly, please do not put a member of staff in an awkward situation by asking them to open a closed facility for you or your party
  • The toilet has hand sanitizer secured outside, please use this when entering and exiting. Toilets will be cleaned in line with our updated Covid-19 procedures, this will be at least once a day and more when necessary in line with our risk assessment.
