Enjoy a family friendly camping holiday at Tamar Lakes, experience sleeping under canvas or glamp in our wooden pod. Tamar Lakes offers a unique outdoors camping holiday near the Cornish coastal town of Bude. The campsite, café and brand new children’s play area are located at Upper Tamar Lake.

There’s plenty of things to fill your holiday with fun and adventure, you can walk, cycle or explore the lake by boat. Enjoy a camping holiday in Cornwall packed with fun and lifelong memories. Let your children’s imagination run wild, collect leaves, find bugs, go on a nature hunt and let them loose in our new play area. Ditch the Ipads and experience a real life adventure, explore our two lakes, walk through woodlands, build a den, skim stones, catch a fish or climb a tree. Walk, run or cycle across the Cornwall and Devon border and see if you can spot herons, dragonflies, kingfishers or even an otter.

If you fancy trying your hand at fishing, Tamar is the perfect lake to have a go. We have friendly instructors and tackle available to hire and can cater for individuals, families or groups of any age and ability. There’s also a fully stocked tackle and bait shop located in our Activity and Angling Centre overlooking the water.

Try something new, our onsite activity centre offers kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing and much more. Get up early, every Saturday morning the lake is alive with activity, your children can join our kid's watersports club or take part in the Tamar Lakes Parkrun. Tamar is a popular coarse fishery and home to the record breaking Cornish carp ‘Biggles’, see if you can catch a record breaker on your visit.

Tamar Lakes is an AA graded 2 star small campsite in Cornwall, the site benefits from spacious pitches, brand new children’s play area, onsite showers and toilets, washing up area, baby changing room, waste disposal and recycling facilities. There’s a choice of electric and non-electric pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Please note, we cannot accept motorhomes larger than 20ft due to access to the campsite.

Enjoy a day trip out and visit the popular Cornish coastal town of Bude, stock up on food and drink, explore the beaches and outdoor sea pool or enjoy a walk on the South West Coastal Path. Go back in time and visit the historic Cornish villages of Clovelly or Boscastle. Venture further, under an hour’s drive are Wadebridge, Dartmoor National Park and the ever popular Cornish beach town of Newquay .

Campers are allowed to use the site and facilities before or after check-in/out. Please ensure you have packed up before 11:00 on the day of departure, you can still use the main car park and enjoy the lakes facilities after packing up. Please note that some of the camping field is on a slight slope.

Please note that for any activities you will need to ensure that you follow the centre's policies, activities are an additional cost on camping.
