Safeguarding our visitors and team of employees is our priority and therefore we have certain measures in place to limit the spread of coronavirus and maintain the safety of everyone.

Whilst open, we must maintain social distancing and hygiene standards to a level that we feel minimises the risk of spreading coronavirus. If at any point we have concerns that visitor numbers or public behaviour are restricting our ability to do this, we reserve the right to close particular lakes or facilities without prior notice.

If you have a new, persistent cough, temperature or any other reason to suspect you may have coronavirus, please do not visit and help save lives.

The following are our overarching instructions for all visitors, below this you will find further details on our code of conduct for going afloat.

 Launch Member Code of Conduct

This is to be read in conjunction with existing SWLT code of practice within membership handbook.

  • Members must only launch if they are completely comfortable in their ability in the prevailing conditions.
  • Only one boat may use the slipway at a time.
  • Members can only sail double handed craft with members of their own household.
  • Members will be expected to arrive at the Lake ready to sail or change at their car, same after their activity.
  • All SW Lakes buildings will remain closed to members with the exception of a toilet.
  • Safety boats will only respond in an emergency, a rescue scenario makes social distancing very difficult.

Day Launch visitors please also note the following in addition to the above:

  • You must book online in advance via the book now button on our website or by clicking the following links Roadford ,Stithians, Wimbleball, Tamar  or Siblyback –  please note payment is not possible on site.
  • Ensure that you only launch well within your competency – safety cover will be limited and for emergencies only.
  • Have appropriate third party insurance for your craft
  • Have your own Buoyancy Aids

Thank you for your support and cooperation at this time.

We look forward to welcoming you soon
