Roadford Lake offers an excellent day out in Devon, there’s plenty of fun and free things to do. Create funny photos with your family and/or friends at the sundial, discover our cob shelter, spot a range of wildlife from our hides, whizz through our off-road cycle trail or simply relax and enjoy the spectacular views.

Great Food

Eat in or out. The Lakeside Café serves locally sourced produce, mouth-watering cakes and a superb range of light lunches. Treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate with all of the extras or, on sunnier days, enjoy a scoop or two of our fantastic local ice-cream. We also offer a delicious Sunday carvery for £9.50. Booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

The cafe is currently open 7 days a week, 10.00am – 5.00pm

Dogs Welcome

Your four-legged friends can now join you in the Lakeside Cafe. We have provided a doggy paw wash area so your pooches can enter the cafe with mud free feet and enjoy a well-deserved tasty treat! During busy periods staff reserve the right to refuse entry to four legged customers on the grounds of safety. Dogs must be kept on leads.

Roadford offers so much more than just a great day out. It is also the perfect location for all occasions and celebrations – tie the knot at Lakeside, host a birthday party or enjoy a conference with a view.

Videos

Roadford Lake was built 1989 and is home to an endangered species, the Hazel Dormouse. Evidence suggests that dormice were present at Roadford pre-1989 before the valley was flooded. South West Lakes Trust have been carrying out dormouse surveys since 2005 which have revealed that the Roadford Local Nature Reserve hosts a healthy population of Hazel Dormouse
