Overview

Wimbleball Lake on Exmoor is the perfect place to visit this summer! Enjoy an unforgettable family adventure, jam-packed with new experiences.

We have an action-packed summer activity programme suitable for all ages and abilities. Activities include stand up paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and archery. You can hire a variety of watersports equipment, launch your own craft or learn something new by taking part in an instructor-led session.

Wimbleball is a place where you can relax and observe the resident wildlife, somewhere to stretch your legs and embrace a moment of calm or a scenic retreat where you can enjoy a well-deserved café treat.

So, when the stresses of lockdown take hold, reconnect with nature and head to Wimbleball Lake this summer.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic unfortunately we are unable to offer our usual summer programme of activities at the lake in 2020. We are however still able to offer tuition sessions for groups of up to 5 in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and archery.

- Experience a different view of the lake and hire a variety of watersports equipment including kayaks, canoes, stand up paddleboards and sail boats. Hire is available 7 days a week. Booking in advance is required through our website. Please see 'Book Now' tab below.

- Do you have your own watersports equipment? You can launch your own kit on the lake from as little as £8. Self-launch is available 7 days a week and booking in advance is required via our website. Please see 'Book Now' tab below. Those wishing to use their own equipment on the lake require third party insurance.

- Our 'Have a go' sessions are a great way to try something new, gain basic skills and play games

- Thinking about taking up a new hobby? Our 'Get into' sessions are a great way to start

- If you struggle to keep the kids entertained over the school break, our Activity Weeks offer excellent value for money and are a great way to get your kids learning and participating in outdoor sports. 5 days packed with new experiences and filled with adventure - Activities include sailingkayakingwindsurfing, stand up paddleboarding and archery.

The spectacular Wimbleball Lake, nestled amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor National Park, is an unforgettable location for your next family day out or camping adventure.

This 530 acre site has something for the whole family to enjoy. Take to the water on a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, explore the miles of footpaths and cycle ways or simply sit back, immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the views.

Experience a completely different view of Wimbleball - You can hire our watersports equipment, launch your own or learn something new with one of our qualified instructors. Don't forget the camera - the lake is home to a variety of wildlife. Visitors can expect to find a range of wildfowl, as well as mammalian varieties such as hedgehogs, weasels and, if you are lucky (and quiet!), the iconic Exmoor red deer!

Want to extend your stay and experience everything Wimbleball has to offer?  Pitch up a tent, toast marshmallows and look up to the sky. Wimbleball is a designated dark skies reserve, the perfect spot to stargaze and engage with nature and the outdoors in its greatest form.

Please note - windsurfing 'have a go' sessions are available to book online. For all other tuition sessions please call us to book on 01398 371460 during opening.
